It’s All About Love is a satirical, darkly humorous project exploring how toxic
relationships are often romanticised, particularly in narratives of young love. Using
irony, visual seduction, and exaggeration, the project exposes — without endorsing —
dynamics of manipulation, control, and emotional harm.
The story follows a couple in love: a woman portrayed as confident, seductive, and
dominant, and a man shown as bruised, emotionally vulnerable, and exposed. Rather
than depicting explicit aggression, the series presents toxicity through a dreamlike,
aesthetically striking lens, reflecting how abusive behaviors are often softened,
excused, or disguised as care.
By reversing traditional gender roles, the project disrupts familiar romantic imagery
and highlights the social mechanisms that blur the line between affection and
control. One episode is loosely inspired by Michelangelo Antonioni’s Blow-Up,
referencing the iconic photographer–model dynamic and flipping its power structure
to question authorship, gaze, and intimacy.
