MÄDCHEN VIVI

Mädchen Vivi is a Brazilian mixed media artist. Her practice moves through femininity, desire, intimacy, and survival, creating visual worlds where the body becomes both a site of vulnerability and power, and feminine symbols shift between pleasure, fantasy, violence, and resistance.

Mädchen Vivi’s work explores femininity as a space of contradiction, where desire, intimacy, fantasy, vulnerability, and resistance coexist. Across photography, moving image and archival materials, she constructs fragmented visual narratives around the body and the symbols historically associated with the feminine.

Her practice moves through what she describes as a feminism of survival: an intimate and symbolic language in which softness, sexuality, beauty, and play become strategies for confronting systems of control and violence. Recurring signs such as panties, knives, roses, lingerie, and other feminine objects appear throughout her work as symbols of survival, desire, vulnerability, danger, and power.

Moving between personal memory and collective imagery, her works reclaim feminine signs as unstable objects—capable of carrying pleasure, fantasy, violence, resistance, and transformation.
