ROMAIN BERGER

ROMAIN BERGER is a photographer, set designer and art director, based in Montpellier, France.
Influenced by the work of David LaChapelle and the aesthetic of Gregg Araki, he's been developing his work for several years at the crossroads of photography, cinema and visual storytelling.

Romain is interested in desire, intimacy and male sensuality, with a particular obsession for colour, kitsch and situations that are sometimes a little absurd. Through these flamboyant worlds, he explores fantasies, secrets, excess and the world we live in, while playing with LGBTQ+ imagery and iconography that has existed for decades.

And then, behind all of that, there’s often something a little less light. A certain melancholy, characters who are waiting, dreaming or simply trying to find their place. Because even with plenty of colour and glitter, the world can still be a complicated place.
